Fall Family Session at Hays Tree Garden in Eugene, Oregon

I just love this family! Sarah and Brian have been coming to me every year with their cutie Emmett and it is always a delight to reconnect with them!

We did last year’s photos in the fall—and I knew the perfect outdoor spot to capture the autumn magic and all the fun memories. Hays Tree Garden is a little spot by Cuthbert Amphitheater in Alton Baker Park—one of my favorites places here in Eugene.

This garden is filled with beautiful trees that have particularly brilliant spring bloom or fall foliage, making it the perfect place for seasonal family photos. I also love that the trees here are donated in honor of loved ones. Although it’s right in the heart of the city, it always feels peaceful and is a lovely place to walk—or hold a photoshoot! We had a great time wandering around, enjoying the scenery, and playing in the pretty fall leaves!

If you’re familiar with Eugene you also know that we have lots of Duck statues around town. We had fun getting a portrait of Emmett with one of these—along with some of his Star Wars buddies! (He’s had these guys since he was tiny. Take a peek into Emmett’s newborn session for a blast from the past!)

I loved getting together again with this family for a fun outdoor photoshoot. So many of my clients become friends and people I look forward to spending time with each year. I can’t wait to reconnect with them again later this year and capture more memories!
