This newborn photo session with baby boy Brooklynn was as cute as they come! Jesika, Michael, and big sister Braelynn were so excited to come to the studio for photos of the new baby. I photographed Braelynn for her newborn and milestone sessions, and it was wonderful to see her again—this time as a proud big sister!
I always leave it up to the parents as to whether they want to include family portraits in their newborn session or just focus on baby. Michael and Jesika decided that for Brooklynn’s newborn pictures, they really wanted him to be the star of the show, so that’s exactly what we did.
I love how mom and dad have chosen something a little different for each of their sessions. With Braelynn, we included lots of flowers, choosing soft pastels for her newborn pictures and all the bright colors at 6 months. When I asked Jesika what she was envisioning for Brooklynn, she said she wanted a very neutral and boho-themed setup. I can do that! We picked out some gorgeous neutrals (grays, creams, and olive greens) and went from there. It was fun to incorporate some texture in the form of greenery, feathery fronds, rugs, and woven baskets.
Brooklynn was absolutely perfect for his newborn photoshoot! Super sleepy, just like his sister was when she was that age, and totally cooperative for all the cute poses.
I absolutely love being the newborn photographer for this sweet couple and their children. Seeing their kiddos grow up and capturing each adorable new face as it’s added to their family is just the best—and one of the many things that makes my work as a Eugene, Oregon newborn and family photographer meaningful.
