I was so lucky to get to spend an evening photographing this gorgeous mama-to-be. Martha was amazing and it was such a privilege to focus this maternity session on her journey of becoming: shifting from woman to mother and embodying strength, vulnerability, and the incredible power of creation!
Martha made the drive to my Eugene, Oregon photography studio from the Portland area. I always take it as a huge compliment when clients are willing to travel to see me. I am so appreciative of what it says about my work, and it’s also inspiring to see the dedication of moms and families to making sure that these precious memories are preserved in a way that feels true to them.
Every photographer has their own unique style, but there’s always room to play within that! One of the easiest ways to do this is with outfits. I provide a client closet filled with pretty dresses so that my lovely moms-to-be don’t have to stress about finding a nice outfit. However, if you have clothing from home that you love and want to wear, that is another great option!
Martha used my silk fabrics but otherwise brought all her own clothing for her maternity session. She had great style and was like a model in front of the camera. I especially loved her suit, which is unlike anything I currently have in my studio wardrobe. I’m always expanding though, so who knows? I might have to add something like this to my maternity closet! It gave such a fun and unique vibe to these gorgeous pregnancy photos.
It was just about a month later that I got to meet her sweet baby boy for his newborn session. Keep an eye on the blog as I’ll be posting his pictures very soon!
